Work at the Sea Front Apartments continues with developments on all fronts.
The Sands Holiday Apartments, which consist of two blocks, Kepwick and Lockton, are expected to be completed by Autumn, with big developments happening in the next few months.
Brian Grange from Tolent Construction, based in Middlesborough, said: "The apartments are really starting to take shape now. We are currently very busy plastering and fitting kitchens. Most of the windows are now in as well. The scaffolding will be coming down in the middle of June and that will make a huge difference to the buildings appearance."
Sales of the 100 apartments are going well with 70 sold already. Managing director of Benchmark, David Rhodes, said: “This is quite astonishing and any developer would be envious of this. All the sea view apartments have now been sold so obviously we are really pleased with that. We are hoping they will all be finished by the end of October.”
Four of the seven retail units have already been taken, with massive interest in the remaining three. Two restaurants, including a 'stylish surfers' bar', as well as a grocery shop and a luxury ice cream parlour have been selected so far.
Mr Rhodes added: “There are still three other shops to let and we have had a lot of interest in them but are yet to make a final decision. Work on these shops will hopefully begin in summer and will be completed by Christmas or the new year. The ones taken so far will all be run by local businesses which I think is great.”
Keep checking back each week for more news and developments as they happen.
