Grand Opening Of The Glass House Cafe And Bistro......

Situated in the Valley, by the soon to be redeveloped Sands Amphitheatre, the Glass House Cafe and Bistro will be open throughout the year serving cafe style food in the day, then an extensive Bistro menu in the evening.

The Glass House Restaurant is situated next door to the Scarborough North Bay Railway, which has jointly undergone a £500,000 redevelopment funded by Benchmark Leisure and the Scarborough North Bay Railway Company.

Lesley Humphreys, managing director of The Glass House in Scarborough, said: "It is thrilling to be involved in one of Scarborough's newest attractions. Hopefully we will get a lot of support from both local people and tourists. We really want the Bistro to earn a reputation within the town, and we aim to keep it open all year round so that local people can still enjoy it in the winter."

The Mayor of Scarborough and local dignitaries attended the opening and were thrilled with the venture.

Cllr Bonnie Purchon said: "The Glass House is wonderful. It is fabulous for the North Bay, and a sign of things to come. It is absolutely marvellous, and there has been such enthusiasm from the owners."
