HUGE Bonfire Night Party in Scarborough......

Lions' president Maurice Johnson said: "It's going to be one spectacular event - better than we've had before.

"We've spent more money than last year, around £3,500, and we are hoping to get between 2,000 and 3,000 people attending."

Although the Lions is a charity, most of the proceeds go to covering the costs of the event.

Mr Johnson said: "We run this event as a public service for the people of Scarborough.

"If we do make any money after we have broken even it goes towards the cost of running our minibus, which helps transport people with disabilities to social and different events.

"It is going to be the best year ever and we have room for lots of parking on the Burniston Road car park.

"I just hope the weather stays clear; my advice is to wrap up warm"
