Scarborough has been judged in a national competition to find the most enterprising town in the UK. A member of the Escape2 Management Team was selected to represent Scarborough Tourism to the panel on their tour of the town.
Rachel Dean, Director of Escape2, was asked by the organisers to speak to the panel of judges at a special lunch at Ask restaurant, in the South Bay, Scarborough.
She said: "Nick Taylor, the Scarborough Urban Renaissance Manager, asked me to come along and speak to the panel about tourism in the town and The Sands Development in particular. The judges were great and were really interested in the Sands and the Sea Front Apartments."
After lunch, the panel were taken on an open top bus ride to view The Sands and the North Bay.
Rachel added: "The judges were truly amazed at the scale of the development and the ambition that Scarborough is showing. The views of the Sands and The Sea Front Apartments from marine drive were stunning."
One of the countries most succesfull entrepreneurs, James Murray Wells, who founded glasses direct, was among the panel and was extremely impressed with what he saw.
He said: "We had an incredible day and I'm going away thinking Scarborough is full of entrepeneurs."
The judges were also shown two of Scarborough's multi million pound investments. The 4.8 million Woodend Creative Workspace and the Rotunda, which recently under went a £4.4 million face lift.
