"Scarborough has gone up market"
We four adults just returned home after a three night stay in a two bed apartment with views over the north bay and along Marine Drive (Prince Albert Drive).
The Sands is all they say it is, and more, and your should try it. You can cater every meal or eat out locally. Lots of fish and chips and lots of walks to burn the food off. The Sands has taken Scarborough and the North Bay up market and we all recommend it.
You should try it and make sure you have a sea view apartment.

We booked a 3-night stay @ The Sands, thru a offer via Travelzoo.co.uk. We were pleasantly suprised that when checking our booking the day before arrival, we were told that we would be upgraded to one of the Penthouse Suites in Lockton House at no extra charge. This made our stay even better and we were very impressed by the whole package that is The Sands.
Location to the Sea/Beach could not be closer!!! Breathtaking views across the North Bay, and only a short open-aired bus ride into central Scarborough.
We will definitely be looking to book again!

"A great base for exploring Scarborough "
I stayed at the Sands while visiting Scarborough to attend the Literature Festival. My apartment had one bedroom and was at the back of the building so no sea view but I knew this when I booked it.
The quality of the apartment was excellent throughout with modern furniture, luxurious kitchen units, a welcome pack with basic groceries and lovely toiletries in the bathroom.
There were some lovely finishing touches too, such as a sheet giving a detailed weather forecast for the day being delivered to the room each morning.
There is a private secure parking space provided with each apartment and the town centre is within walking distance (allow about 20 mins) so you can safely leave the car there while you explore the town. But if you want to go further afield, you are well situated for access to the main routes to Whitby, Pickering and other places in the area.
There are plenty of places to eat in Scarborough and a small supermarket on the ground floor of the apartment block where you can buy basic provisions for self-catering with bigger supermarkets available elsewhere in Scarborough.
Although I only stayed for 3 nights, I really appreciated the extra space and privacy that the apartment provided, compared with staying in a hotel or B&B and wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Sands again when visiting Scarborough.

Fantastic sea view. The room had all the mod cons including state of the art kitchen facilties, Plasma Tv with dvd player & nitendo wii. Great open living space. I felt relaxed and comfortable.

The Sands in Scarborough is a new beautifully designed apartment hotel, where you have the comfort of your own apartment with all the facilities needed. It gives you plenty of your own space so that it feels like being in your own home. The Sands in Scarborough has very friendly staff and the free DVD hire is also included in the stay.

We loved the position and the advantage of sea view. The Sands in Scarborough is very convenienient, yet quiet very comfortable and superbly equipped. We all enjoyed the Wii and selection of DVD's.

I liked the fact they went the extra mile for me as I made a request for rose petals to be put on the bed For my girlfriend and they obliged and it looked beautiful (her words) overall a really nice weekend break in Scarborough.

The whole experience at The Sands in Scarborough was excellent. We took a short 2 night break to escape the family and get some peace and quiet.
The Sands in Scarborough is a fantastic venue, providing excellent facilities and excellent service. I have already recommended it a to a significant number of people, and look forward to visiting again as soon as time allows.

The Sands self catering Apartments may just be perfect!!! The location is unbeatable...you can't get closer to the sea, within walking distance of the busy town centre but not right in the centre.
The standard of the accommodation is the best i have ever come accross and truly deserves the 5 star rating. The staff were very friendly especially Peter who went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable and happy.
The sea views are outstanding and binoculars are prvided in the room to help you to appreciate the views. Although the sands are still not fully completed there is no disruption to the guests, no mess and no noisy.
Everything about the break was great. I stayed with the girls but plan to go back with the family as i feel it would suit any variation of traveller. Excellent.

Who stayed in January. Lovely apartment, really made the weekend special. Well appointed and felt luxurious. Great welcome from the team and great customer service throughout the stay.

Well equipped flats in a fantastic location on the beach. Much better value then any of the Scarborough hotels in town.

Rooms/furnishing/equipment/views/service - all excellent. Concierge Sarah made you feel as though you were the only visitors.

Can't rate this accomodation highly enough from the friendly staff (we were greeted at our car in the secure parking lot) to the high quality room very clean everything you could wish for even a complementary grocery pack!
Along with one of the best views on the east coast right from your private balcony!
No one will be dissapointed with the Sands Apartments in Scarborough have some of the best accomodation you'll find.

Just had a weekend there and had a fabulous apartment overlooking the sea. The apartment was so good we even stayed in on the first night and had a takeaway! Everything was so clean and rooms were immaculate. Will definitely go back.
