Scarborough is a Victorian town and was Britain’s first seaside resort, welcoming visitors for over 360 years. Its architecture tells the story of days gone by, and you mustn’t miss visits to the newly refurbished Spa or Scarborough Castle, which overlooks both the North and South Bays from its dominant cliff-top position.

Ideal for families looking for fun, Scarborough offers a variety of activities. Right on the doorstep of The Sands you will find Peasholm Park, where you can enjoy the boating lake, play mini golf or putting and, throughout the summer, enjoy music concerts in the park pavilion.

All the fun of the fair, miniature railway, sea-boat trips, open-top bus tours, children’s activity centres and family fun centres can all be found on Scarborough’s South Bay. The North Bay is also home to Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary, where you will find Yorkshire’s seal rescue centre – a must-see attraction.

And, of course, you have the choice of two blue flag beaches.
